Research proposal abstract

Research indicates that a substantial portion, up to 50%, of patients recommended for knee arthroplasty are suitable candidates for unicompartmental knee arthroplasties. Notably, in the Netherlands from 2014 to 2021, the proportion of unicompartmental knee arthroplasties of all primary knee arthroplasties has surged from 9% to 21%. In light of this trend, this Dutch register-based study aims to assess the demographic shifts over the last years and evaluate their impact on survivorship.
