Research proposal abstract
Doctors tend to have a fierce commitment to rational. However, there are still strong believes in medicine of things that bring ‘bad luck’, for instance, a full moon or Friday the thirteenth. Until now it is unclear if a suspicious surgery date or component size are related to ‘bad luck’. A retrospective survival analysis of size 13 stems in total hip arthroplasty or surgery on the 13th in hip and knee arthroplasty implanted in the Netherlands in the past 13 years. Data will be obtained from the Dutch arthroplasty register.
